Our Hard Silver Solder is perfect for Sterling Silver Jewelry making and repairs. It's high temperature melting point of 1365° results in strong, solid Solder joints, and is recommended for more experienced Jewelers. Works great with our Butane Soldering Torch.

This 20 gauge hard solder wire is simple to snip off as many pieces as the job requires. Use this solder with sterling or fine silver, or other white metals. This solder is perfect for sterling silver jewelry making and repairs.

As expected

This solder works great for laying longer lines. Just heat your peice and touch the solder to it.

Q: I have cleaned my base metal, applied flux, but cannot get the SL650 chip to flow with my propane torch. what am I doing wrong? base metal is copper. I am a novice. I can get my plumbers solder to flow, but not this. please advise. thank you

Q: will this work with steel ?

A: No, it only works on silver. For steel you will need to use a welding torch, due to the extreme hardness and high melting temperature. Thanks

Q: I make small metal sculptures out of steel nails. How does this product compare to Harris Safety-Silv 56% 1/16 Silver Solder Brazing Alloy? Thanks.

A: Our hard solder, it is approx. 75% silver, 20% copper and 5% zinc. This is going to give a more silver appearance to the joint in terms of color. The color may not match exactly with stainless steel, but that’s debatable. Overall, it seems that the Harris is better suited for industrial applications while ours is more suited for jewelry applications (where the joints have a possibility of showing).
